As I posted a few months ago, Ciara performed on Saturday Night Live Saturday night. The performance was good up until Never Ever. The girl just cannot sing and yeah shes a good dancer but she is not all that.

Last night Rihanna attended the 3rd Annual DKMS Gala. She looked pretty but her outfit was pretty sick. I love her (or her stylist)’s sense of fashion. The way everything just works together is a good look for her. Check out a whole bunch of photos of hers below the cut from the event. (more…)

Soulja Boy and singer Sammie performed their hit single Kiss Me Through The Phone on Jay Leno last night. Never thought I’d hear of Soulja Boy on Leno but whatever, it’s a good song. I’m not sure why they are waiting until now to start doing performances of it, I mean the song hit #3 a few months ago and is falling now.

I want to start this post off by introducing why I’m even posting this song. I wanna post older songs that never really got spotlight whether because they were unreleased or leaked or whatever the case may be; however the song is obviously good. (Otherwise I wouldn’t be posting it haha). Well with reading about Ashanti’s release from Murder Inc. I thought I’d post one of my favorite songs of hers. Back in 2003 when her hit single Rock Wit U came out, she did an exclusive remix for a U.K radio station. The song samples both her song and Michael Jackson’s 1970’s hit Rock Wit U. I love how she rides the beat on it, and it makes me miss the Ashanti heydays. Check out the song if your a fan of either one of the variations of Rock Wit U.

In a new interview for MTV.Com, Irv Gotti says he is done with Ashanti and is dropping her.

“The relationship has run its course,” Gotti explained earlier this week while visiting the MTV offices. “The chemistry of what’s needed — we’re in two totally different places. You’re talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. We [hold the record] for the [fastest] selling debut by a female R&B artist — 503 [thousand]. We did it! My views and philosophies and her views and philosophies are not meeting up.” Ashanti’s last LP, The Declaration — her first in four years — came out in June of last year on the Inc. and was created with virtually no input from Gotti. The album was her first in-studio project not to go platinum. Gotti says it’s because the singer deviated from their winning formula and tag-team effort. “I personally believe for her to be successful, it took the energy … when you seen her, it was 30 n—as around her, and she’s the princess so nice and pretty walking through,” he said. “The music was great, but it was the energy that was created. It wasn’t just her standing there and singing a song. “We don’t really speak or talk or anything like that,” he continued. “It’s sad in a way. But in another, it’s like it’s all good.” Well, maybe not that good. Gotti said it is best for them to part ways. “I don’t think she can win. She needs some guidance with that,” Gotti added. “But she’s not thinking like that. Really, I couldn’t tell you what she’s thinking. So that relationship has run its course and honestly, I’m gonna just drop her.”

Honestly, congratulations Ashanti. She was actually contracted for one more album with them but if hes dropping her she can make a new album off a new label. Irv says it’s Ashanti who changed but it obviously wasn’t. Where was his “winning” formula on Ja Rule’s latest albums? Also while I did love all of Ashanti’s albums, none ever matched the success of her debut so where was the “winning formula” on them? Bottom line Irv is wack.

OWWWWW! She is so hot, this only made her hotter to me. They look like they were taken for a photo shoot (even though they obviously werent) but they aren’t trashy in any sense of the word and it only makes me think better of her. I am soo souped for the new album, talk about eras .. she shaved one side of her hair off, topless photos leaked, and she is coming out with great music. Can’t wait for it all. The Boston Phoenix posted photos of rapper Wales and pop sensation Lady Gaga on the set of the video for the song Chillin. The video was shot on the Boston waterfront. It looks rather interesting, and I liked the song a lot when it first came out but now I guess I played it out. Hopefully the video will rekindle my interest in it. The race to #1 on next weeks Billboard Top 200 chart is looking to be a neck and neck battle between Chrisette Michele and Ciara. At first I thought Ciara would demolish any other competition for the week because she is the only somewhat big name debuting this week however Chrisette came out of nowhere. Hits Daily Double, which tracks album sales throughout the entire week, is saying it will be a close call for both girls. Right now Chrisette has the #1 album on Itunes while Ciara is #4. It’ll be interesting to see if Chrisette can outsell Ciara. I don’t think it will happen but it is obviously possible with the way things are turning out.

Rumor has it that Lindsay Lohan is begging for Pharrell to call her back so they could work on her third studio album together. This is just a rumor but seems to be from credible sources so read on, but take it with a grain of salt.

Lindsay Lohan has issued a public plea to hip-hop producer Pharrell Williams to get in touch after he failed to return her phone calls. The actress/singer is working on her third album and revealed earlier this year (09) that the N.E.R.D. rapper/singer had offered to help revive her music career. Lohan told Interview magazine, “He’s an amazing guy. He’s only been really kind to me whenever I’ve met him. He said, ‘I’d love to make a great record with you, but I want to take you out of all the elements that you’re used to. Let’s go away. Let’s go somewhere nice where you can be focused, and let’s make an album there.’” But Lohan has been snubbed and now she’s begging Pharrell to contact her, reports Usmagazine.com. She says, “Pharrell, please call me back!”
